Injector numbering

Injector numbering
Hello all,
On the OM651, I understand injector 1 maps to cylinder 1, injector 2 to cylinder 2 etc. However is cylinder 1 at the front of the engine (by the timing chain) or at the back?

generally all inline engines with longitudinal engines, 1 is the closest to the front, and they are numbered going towards the back.
(oddly that google search lead to a lot of useless garbage, I didn't see one diagram of the cylinder numbering)

Exactly! I couldn't find anything online except the video mentioned above. Guess I'll have to take his word!
