Headlight switch ring not lighting up

Did a search and didnt find what I was looking for.

All of my internal lights work at night or early morning when I am running with headlights on. The headlight switch itself the center part that you rotate lights up however the outer ring with the selection indications does not light up. Usually not a big deal but I have to enter gates early in morning and dimm my headlights and like to see what I am selecting when I do as such.

Have not tore into it yet just curious if anyone else has ran into this issue.

Thanks,

Do an advanced search on "Headlight Switch" in the title, and you will find several threads on this topic. Here's one: https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...-t-recall.html

Bottom line, the headlight switch is NOT illuminated by design. No one knows why.

Thanks,
you should have an LED ambient light bar just above the switch that shines down. Perhaps your ambient lighting is turned down. If so, crank your cabin ambient light up to help you see the lighting positions. As stated, this switch is not internally illuminated.

Thanks everyone. That is so odd the center is illuminated but the outside portion is not. Ill take an extra look at the led above to ensure that one is operating.
To add i usually leave it in auto but when pulling out of driveway at 0430 i dont like to flash the neighbors house, or the gate gaurds when i get to work so i probably operate this switch more then most would.
