2014 - W212.065 - E400 ( M276.820, 3 liter Turbo) RWD not Hybrid
Spec wise, good to be 800amps Cold Cranking ( CCA ). 20 hour rating 80Ah or bigger okey.
Size wise must fit the original battery tray and its lock. F21 size.

I believe it depended on your options list, H6 for a stripper, H7 for moderate options and H8 for loaded, all three will fit in a 212, so depends on your climate and options as to which you may want, the H8 is 14 pounds heavier than the H6 if that's any concern.

2008 E350 (W211 @170K), 2012 ML350 (W166 @119K), 2014 E350 Sport (W212 @96K), 2015 ML350 (W166 @92K)
that is size-wise and vented if possible, correct?

The auxiliary one is vented in the back. I have to check the main one.

Yes, the underhood battery has a vent tube, I would recommend it as well. I have the H7 in my '12 and the H8 in my '13. I live in the snow belt and my wife's car sits out at work all winter so I value the CCA's more than worry about the weight.

Yes, but in San Fran conditions you could go with the H7 and never have issues. Here, they are the same price. But I like the H8 for raw CCA's. The 8 is 7-8 pounds more than the 7 if that's a concern for you, for me not so much. I would recommend an AGM.

H8 is the biggest battery that you might need and I usually buy them for my diesels.
H7 will give you plenty of power to turn engine in CA climate, when saving several lb of weight to carry.
I am just buying H8 for my GLE and Costco have them for $183, but not at all locations.
Right now buying flooded battery in USA is impossible.
The old, flooded batteries of this size lasted us up to 13 years, when record reported on forum was 17 years.
The AGM battery in my GLE is 6 yo and I consider myself lucky it lasted that long.

Walmart and I'm sure others still sell lead-acid batteries, you can get AGM's and lithium too, but Lithium are low amp and pricey.

afaik, Mercedes specifies AGM batteries for these cars, so thats a good reason to stick with them

Lithium as a car starter battery? seems like overkill, and possibly not even suitable, Lithium Iron Phosphate batteries ideally need a completely different charging regimen than lead-acid, the smart charging of these W212's would not be good for them, AND most Lithiums are optimized for deep cycle applications like RV 'house' batteries, and have current output limits that would not be sufficient to start a car engine.

Correct.I was just saying Walmart sold all three, not that they were correct for this application.

My W212 diesel come to me with flooded battery and I replaced it with flooded soon after I bought it.
But the Walmart flooded batteries come with 12 month warranty, what rules them out for me, so I was forced to buy AGM lately.
I just picked up Interstate H8 for my GLE. Having the Solar gizmo, who test CA, the 1st thing I did was checking it.
The 1000 CA rated battery delivered 1530 CA.
I am happy.
