Next question - glove box latches - adjustable?

Hello all,
Next question as I sort out my "new" 2014 E350 wagon. The glovebox was stuck shut, but I figured out that with the right combination of pull and tug I can get it open. The problem seems to be the the left side latch moves some when the lever is pulled, but the right side latch does not move at all, and seems pretty much stuck. Is it possible to get into the door and adjust the mechanism? Or is this a case of just buy a good used one from eBay and swap it out. Found lots of posts on adjusting various other models, but not the W212.

Thanks!

Are you asking about the double door center console "glove box"? If so, this topic has been discussed before. IIRC, the bottom line is that adjustments are not easily done, with various results. Most have to buy a matched set of doors.

I ask for this clarification, because I believe there is only one set of latches (not two) for the glove box in the passenger dash.

No, the one in the dash. There is a latch on each end, operated by the lever on the left side of the door. Pull the lever and the latch on the left moves some, the one on the right not at all. Left side drive car, of course.

I'm not sure what removing it will gain me (other than being the first step in replacing it with one that isn't broken) - the entire latch mechanism is contained in the glovebox door. Does the door come apart so you can access it? Well, I am sure it can come apart - the question then is can it go back-together again and still work?
