Educate yourself about rotors.
Drilled & slotted rotors help a lot if you do lot of hard braking from speeds above 130 mph and performance is crucial.
For lower speeds - holes and slots are waste of material.
I ditto Akebono as the best value for the pads. Had them on W210 and after about 150k miles, I still had about 60% of pad remaining.
2011 E550. Switched to Brembo ceramic pads during the summer. Noticeably less brake dust than OEM and stopping power feels good even when i lightly step on it.
I have had many sets of Akebono pads over the years and like them except for one thing - they lack initial bite, especially when cold. I have found that TRW ceramic pads seem to combine the great parts of Akebono with initial bite like the dusty OEM pads. As a bonus, they are a bit cheaper. Great feel, no dust, seem to be easy on rotors and last well. But I don't track my cars - this is strictly daily driver usage. I too like Zimmerman coated rotors - and that is the combo I just put on the rear of my wagon. Not a fan of drilled or slotted rotors at all.
