Question Any ideas how I can fix this??

Hey guys,

I recently bought another Japanese imported E350 wagon, this one for my girlfriend, has a few more nice options than mine, dual pane panoramic roof ....but its also got a wonky electric blind that looks like its jumped teeth or become jamed at some stage and only 1 side has continued on to its fully open position, when you lock it in place like in these pics and close the rear hatch the blind goes down to its normal position and the climbs back up blocking your rear view mirror totally!

Just wondering if anyone has any experience with these or knows how to pull them apart so I can try to fix it?

Maybe a tech bulletin or service doc on how it goes together?

Cheers!

On mine, I can remove it and re-align it easy. Once you have it removed, just put it back in aligned and when you close and open the hatch, it will raise with it again.

I would double check the design.
Don't know if that applies to W212, but I remember that W211 wagons had the cover with mechanical limit switches, when in other parts of the World they had magnetic sensors.

The cover is meant to be detachable from the track. You "should" be able to remove it from the track and reattach it at the bottom with the entry slot. This may take some elbow grease if it's jammed in there. Have you tried pulling it down and sliding it out using the track?

Honestly dont know what kind of weird magic happened but I left the blind off the tracks, opened and closed the tail gate a few times carrying stuff, decided to put the blind back in the bottom of the tracks and bugger me if it didnt fix its self next time I opened the tailgate??? now its perfectly level when top or bottom....weird but thankful I didnt need to rip the thing apart!!

Thanks as always for the help guys.
