Why a 1/4" rachet use ?
Because E10 and E12 is the most common size for M276 engine and probably for M278 too.
These bolt sizes are all very low torque value and many are located in places where bigger 3/8" rachet or converter 1/4" to 3/8" would be too tight or too long.

heh, I have a tiny little Knipex Cobra pliers I got on a lark, surprisingly handy little things, but they don't have those metal tips for hose clamps, just toothed jaws for plumbing, etc.
