Generally the installation of a down pipe is not that difficult. If you can see the downpipe and touch it, You can change it out. Because this it's a Mercedes and they don't like you touching things, if your car is AWD, you may have to drop the subframe/steering rack/ get low profile engine mounts. That's what I found when I searched the forums for you
Appreciate the info, that’s my main question is how much I’ll have to take apart to be able to take them out and hook the new ones up. Also mine is a coupe which is RWD, do you know if that affects it differently in anyway?

on the stock V8 exhaust, the exhaust headers on each side connect to a main exhaust line (650, 660 on the drawing below) which include the catalytic converter and post converter, and those two main lines connect to the mid and rear mufflers.

So I'm not sure what you mean by 'downpipe' ?
A downpipe is typically known as the piping that comes off of the turbo. The M278 platform, however, has bridge pipes and downpipes. Installation of downpipes on a 4-matic model requires either removal of the subframe or lifting the engine slightly (I don't remember which). RWD W207 Coupes, and RWD PFL W218 downpipes are able to be installed without any movement of the drivetrain. Most downpipes for sale you will see online include both the downpipe and the bridge pipe

and to be clear, on those top two diagrams, pipe 150 and 210 are both air pipes. guessing the exhaust pipes, 650,660, with the cats attach directly to the turbo exhaust outputs.

Are you saying that bridge pipes can be installed on a 207 without disconnecting anything major? I've seen references to that, but trying to verify.

Unfortunately I cannot confirm that for you. I have heard that bridge pipes are minimal gains on the 207/212/218 platform, and I do believe you need to lift the motor for the install of bridge pipes. Since bridge pipes are separate from downpipes, you an go catless with the stock bridge pipes still installed.
