Roadtop Apple CarPlay — easy DIY
I installed a roadtop Apple CarPlay unit (purchased on Amazon) on my 2014 E250 this weekend.
I watched a few YouTube videos and took my time. Relatively easy DIY. It took me about 3 hours. Everything works as advertised.
It makes my 264,000 mile baby feel brand new! I should have done this years ago.

Took me three hours to install RoadTop as well. Most of the time spent was cable management. Yes, agree, we should have done this years ago!
I kept my phone dash mount for (wireless) battery charging, and so I can have a map access on the dash and music access on the phone.

Just did this in my '11 E350 wagon. For me, the hardest part is getting the head unit back in with the extra wiring harness. I am still working on it.

FYI, for anybody interested in doing this I wrote up a W212 DIY install for the Joyeauto unit and the install process for the RoadTop unit is identical. And in fact, I'd highly recommend the newer RoadTop unit which I also installed in our GL.
