Completely ok, it is a V8 twin turbo. I don't understand anyone who says you need to somehow earn it by making more power ? lol Its not just an AMG badge as it was optioned on the M278 engines vehicles and it doesn't say AMG on it, so no big deal. I'm putting them on my 550 because i like the look of it. de-badging the back though as i like it clean.

In fact when the M278 first came out you could tell the dealer your VIN, and you could buy the badge.
I would never put a AMG badge anywhere .
i feel alot better knowing that was an option from start i did not know that ..

My thoughts also. Every day I choose a car I see on the road and mentally mod it while driving, then my wife interrupts me with "OMG did you hear what I just said?" Bummer...

Amg badge

I appreciate all the advice.
i badged it . With the V8 biturbo and the renntech badge ..
but that’s the only badges I put on ..
i really like this car
I REALLY like the way this car looks and rides .
The one thing I don’t like about the V8 biturbo badge is . Every idiot in a Kia or Honda that pulls up next to me with no exhaust wants to peacock there completely inadequate car into a race .
i don’t understand it . Do they know what this car is capable of doing ?
it’s just embarrassing for them ..
I guess the next 2 things I do
BOV valve and a intercooler pump upgrade both from renntech ..

The only thing worse than the Kia's and Honda's trying to "peacock" you into a race... is you obliging them...

Funny

I have for a few of them
it I don’t know what it is about these little tuners .. the last guy that did this was last sat night ,. I’m not driving fast or doing anything to indicate i wanna race
and I’m sitting at a red light and all the sudden I hear the loudest lawn mower I have ever heard .
and his car starts popping and he’s jumping forward like let’s go .
i just shook my head and and laughed .
It was a Kia forte with no exhaust

My 2013 E550
I never understood why the "Bi-Turbo" was only on AMG cars. The engine was with Bi-turbo in a lot of cars that were not hand-build AMG-engines.

As long as you don't touch the trunk lid with anything saying AMG I think you can use any badging in the car you like. That RENNTech looks cool I would say. I would not use that badge either if I didn't have it.

I sure wouldn't add a RENNTECH badge to a car they didn't build.

Parallel question.
I had my GLE park on the snow under strong sun at 9000' elevation. The sun baked white hatch so hot, that the plastic holding the letters melted and the letters slide down.
I did not notice that right away, so moved the car around the parking and as result we could not find the "i" letter from "4 Matic" badge
Went to the dealer and they want >$100 for whole "4 Matic" lettering, so can anybody spare the "i" ?
I would be fine with no badge, but DW likes them.

So, if adding the badge gives you the satisfaction, by all means go for it!
Having Bluetecs ,where sedan is 60 mph car and SUV still makes 30 mpg, I was considering adding "ECONO diesel" to the badge. but can't find the place to buy it.
Now imagine owner of E63 (or Corvette owner) face, when I blow his door off with such badge?

Don't you just buy them on eBay?
