iSoft 3 question

Question, can the iSoft scanner tell me fluid levels and reset transmission modules to erase driving habit memory? Not speaking exclusively to my 212 here, but also to our 2020 GLS x167 too. I almost bought a scanner about a year ago and didn’t. I’m not looking to recode anything, just looking to check on things and see if anything needs attention. We’re going to have both of these cars for quite some time, and wanting some tools to help me understanding how they're doing and whatnot.

thanks!

Which fluid levels are you asking about specifically? I can check later today and report back with my findings.

Resetting transmission to erase driving habits doesn't require a scanner. You can do that accelerator pedal hold thing and it'll do the same.

Transmission fluid, coolant, oil, etc.

I'm not entirely sure the gas peddle trick works on the new 2020 GLS like it does on the 212. Also not sure it does a full 100% reset across all modulars in the system. That's what I would like the ability to do with a scanner. Reset things. Tell it that it has a new battery, see operating temps, that sort of stuff. I know the car will tell me some of this, but would be nice to get a bit more precise reading whenever I wanted one. Knock on wood, I don't get many error lights (can't remember the last time I ever saw a check engine light in any of my cars), but would like to know the "deal" if I do before heading off to the shop.

Basically it's time for me to have a bit more technical understanding of our two MB's and thinking a scanner would help. Not willing to spend in excess of $400 on one though. Anything that requires that level of service, is going to be out of my hands.

I'm not aware that the iCarsoft 3 (or any other scanner) can tell you fluid levels. My understanding is the scanners are designed to query electrical systems within the car, not the physical state of fluids. And I don't recall my iCarsoft 3 offering any fluid display option.

Someone else feel free to correct...
