Help! I can't get the grey lock to slide down (Pics)
On 3 of the other ones I looked at they all slid down easily, but this one won't. (It's the grey plastic piece in the picture).
I'm trying to push the grey plastic piece down to lock into place, but it won't budge. It's stuck.
Does anyone have any tricks on how to get it to slide down and lock into place? Thanks

Summary: no need to create more problems moving wires from one connector to another.
Here is a thread about that connector, https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...ml#post8385341

Arrie, those two are the stops when the connector is finally closed/secured. If I recall correctly, if the grey tab is pull too far something inside gets out of position, and it must be carefully put back in place; otherwise, pushing too hard breaks it.
The first time I changed spark plugs I pull one of them too much, and I mistakenly forced it in when I finished and broke it as well. Now I am bit more careful since those are the same safety latches on the camshaft connectors.

but removing the connector is not by pulling it, but by pushing it from the bottom upwards using my left hand fingers.
Yes a 2 hand job but its worth preventing this baby connectors from damage.
I got a few test connectors MALE and FEMALE, so I can practice with them on my working table with ease and the method I mentioned is so far the best I tried.
