Mystery connector! Help identify

Hi folks,

Wrapping up the very tedious cam adjuster/chain tensioner job and I noticed a connector near the ecu for which I cannot find a home!? Please check pics and help remove my brain cloud? Passenger side (US) between air filter box and intake manifold. Any chance this is an unused cable on this model? E550 coupe

Check wire colors, size and quantity against the schematic I attached. I suspect it is the knock sensors of RIGHT bank
NOTES ON WIRE COLOR : if brown-green means brown wire with thin green line

On my M276 3.0 TT engine, that male connector will marry the female one at the V bank.

==========================

On my M276 3.0 TT , only 2 knock sensors, so only 1 unit of a 4 pin connector.

Have fun................ its going to be A LOT OF WORK

I forgot to add.
Do not be surprised if you color match the wire color to the schematic, some color on the actual wire be it since new or already aging, may look different.
Example on my 3.0TT schematic, try to see what colors are described on it , versus the the actual wire colors as per photo.
Would you call Pin #2 as PINK wire ?
Would you call Pin #4 as Yellow wire ?

Hmm, well it’s a 3 wire/3 pin connector. Indeed hard to tell colors, though I would say (pink, green w/brown, yellow)? I took more pics, as it has a pretty short wire and I cannot find ANY connectors within its range!?

Have a go at the wiring diagram colors of the wires and its pin number.

NOTE : When connector is called X26 or any X , that means it is a male and female connector and has some more wires at its output side and not direct to device/component.

So if you connector is not X type, it is then for device/component directly. That connector is common use in MB engine bay.
So track down all 3 pins sensor/component and match the wires. I already tried but me eyes can't find 3 colors being matched.

Your connector pin ID number is below, go and confirm it by sight. Usually #1 is at the curve side of that Hirschmann Seal Star 1.2 connector.

Happy troubleshooting...............

Thank you, and this makes my brain hurt lol. The closest one I can see, IF I am interpreting any of this correctly, is: B28/6 Pressure Sensor Upstream of Throttle Valve. Not sure if that makes sense, as I don't know where that sensor is located on my m278

But, it's more potential information than I had previously...

edit: or possibly B28/5 actually, pressure sensor downstream of air filter. This is what made me wonder if this was an unused plug, as I already have airbox sensor plugged in on each side...and this plug on Bank 1 side looks identical to the one I DID plug in on Bank 2 side
