S212 Improvements

I like wagons. And the only 2 wagons I see available in North America are the BMW 3 series wagon (328i/330i xDrive) and the Mercedes S212 (E350/E400). So as soon as I get my 2001 750iL sold I will be looking to buy one these. I've been reading all the reviews I can find but still have unanswered questions.

I love the characteristics of my 750iL, like the comfort, the quiet and the handling. But from what I've read the handling characteristics of the S212 are not exactly present. So, after searching and not finding much, I wanted to ask whether or not there is the possibility to improve handling? Perhaps by taking some suspension components from the AMG S Wagon? Perhaps braking components as well? But I've read the AMG S Wagon ride may be a little harsh? But would I find a middle ground in performance and comfort by say using AMG S Wagon control arms and moving to a Bilstein B6 shock/strut while keeping the existing springs? If either of those are an option.

Has anyone gone this route or have any experience?

Thanks,

Forgive me as I feel I should note I understand there is the 'sport package' for the S212. But is mentioned in this review/comparison that it is still not sporty enough.

Regarding the brake upgrade question I did locate this info: https://mbworld.org/how-tos/a/merced...cations-389826 So I can scratch that off the list of questions.

S212's are airmatic in the rear always, and can have in the front as well. Options to make them sportier than they are do not exist.
