Does open pore interior wood fade?
Does the open-pore brown ash wood fade like the glossy burn walnut? I see that my 2016 E350 had open-pore as an option. Seems smart to install that instead of burl walnut which might fade again. Thanks.

Open pore brown ash should work in 2014-2016 according to a quick check of a few parts. I'll post the full parts list and prices at some point.
But the big question is: Does open pore brown ash wood fade? And can anyone post some pictures of the wood in that linked thread.

The clear coat, which the open pore has a different coating, on the burl, lacked the UV additives to prevent sun bleaching therefore giving the appearance of fade but is actually a sun bleached effect like using a magnifying glass. The open pore has a much thinner and different substance than the thicker gloss coat used on the burl. Therefor the open pore should not bleach out near as fast as the gloss coatings used.
