What's this wet electrical connector by the oil drain?

My 2016 E350 4Matic wagon with M276.9 engine, there's a wet electrical connector under the engine by the oil drain plug. What is that and why would it be so wet?

The car has 73k miles. It has leaking camshaft position sensors which I'm about to replace. The cam magnet/solenoids are the new version and aren't leaking. The M and F connectors on the ECU are dry. Those are the only clues that I have. Thanks for any input.

Oil level sensor? Wet with oil? Wet inside the connector or outside/exterior?

Late stage oil-in-harness can result in oil migrating all over the engine harness via shared ground points.

If u see front side under main pulley ( torsional damper) and a has connector, that is 2-stage oil valve outside connector.

Thanks for the input. It looks like oil is leaking all around that area of the engine. I have to pull the belly pans, clean everything, and watch for leaks to return. I've only had this car for a year and 13k miles so I don't know its history.

Could this "oil level check switch" be the "oil pump sensor" which could leak/wick oil like the crankshaft position sensors and camshaft magnets/solenoids? Is the oil pump sensor a known source of leaking/wicking on the E350 (the post I linked was from AMG)? How difficult would it be to replace? Thanks.

Anything inside the oil pan and needing the main or upper oil pan ( aluminum body and with the small black steel bottom removable window ) to be removed, means front subframe + power/electric steering need to be removed too is not as easy job.
This is MAIN/UPPER oil pan : https://www.ebay.com/itm/374810915887

If my car, RWD

What does your timing covers look like? When mine were leaking, the oil was making it down there.
