2011 E350 4Matic m272 motor mounts question

What’s going on guys just have a quick question about replacing the motor mounts. I was wondering if any has use the method of just dropping the subframe and jacking up the engine on a 4matic or is it only possible on the rwd versions

It won't give you any additional clearance compared to leaving the subframe in place unless you also remove the front axles. The axles run through a hole in the subframe. Jacking up the engine with the axles in will give you just barely enough space, but make sure you do the (US) passenger side first.
