You're welcome. Yes, your iPhone still connects to both COMAND and the CarPlay interface unit. You swap between the two by holding down the rotary selection knob. The call can use either system. One of the cool features is that text messages and announcements will be read to you, even when you are switched to COMAND mode. The music sound is actually much improved over the stock sound. And the best feature is you can use Apple Maps, Google Maps, Waze, etc. for navigation. And if you listen to audio books, such as with Audible, that works too.

Siri Button
I've had this in my RHD 2014 S212 for the last 2 months. I must say that it's excellent and far exceeded expectations. It's a hugh upgrade over the stock setup.
The only one minor issue I've got is that when I press the steering wheel button for voice control, Siri activates, but Comand voice control also activates. Even though Siri deals with the voice input, because Comand is also listening, it overrides the audio output, so I can't hear what Siri is saying. It's a relatively minor issue, I can still just use 'Hey Siri', but I wondered if anyone else has exerienced this and found a solution?
Also, I must mention how great the suppor from the supplier has been.

You can disable comand voice control through the engineering menu. See HW settings, I think option #21, named SDS/TTS. Deactivate this settings and the steering wheel voice button no longer controls the Comand system, only Siri.

thank you! That’s exactly what I needed. It’s now working seamlessly.

This sounds like a really nice upgrade to the E350. How does it react when multiple Iphones are in the car at the same time? Does it try and answer each phone or just the drivers pre loaded phone?
What if the wife borrows the car, does it work as well with her phone?
Thanks

Weird.. Try menu 7.5 (TGW Parameter), option 1 (MOST). Set this temporarily to 'OFF', then check 7.7 SDS/TTS again. Is it still greyed out?
Do make sure to enable 7.5 option 1 (MOST) after this step.

As I have no experience with sentry, I have no clue whether this would work. However, the name matches so there’s a good chance that it will work.
