W212 E200 engine mount replacement - M274 engine
I noticed this great Youtube video showing how to change the engine mount on W212 E200 with M274 engine. However, my car is right hand driving instead so I am wondering if the steering column would not obstructing the removal/install of the engine mount on the right side since the space has already tightened by the catalytic converter.
Anyone has experience in replacing engine mount on right hand drive M274 engine vehicle, especially on W212?
The steering column and exhaust pipe both located right hand side for right hand drive vehicle that preventing the engine mount replacement like the video shown. For the right hand side engine mount, you need to roll the engine mount forward to the front (near the engine fan), remove the air duct to the air filter to make some room (like what you did for engine filter replacement), then you can extract it from the top. (probably you need a meter high ladder depending on the car height level). Installation is the reverse.
Finally, I did it.
Usually caused by the engine mounts, hydraulic type which have collapsed
While the car is on the hoist, swap out the transmission mount as well
Left and right engine mounts are the same, part number 2122407217
Transmission mount part number 2122400418
I have used aftermarket and they are probably all made in the same factory anyway
