HVAC DIY - Vacuum hose of choice

I have bought enough vacuum hoses and charging hoses for my HVAC tools collection, I am going to recommend the most bang for the buck one.
01. Rolls Rocye or Maybach of vacuum hose 3/4" size, no other model can complete for speed and volume of evacuation and deepest vacuum possible.

02. Super duper BANG FOR THE BUCK 3/8". But note, this is short. For W212 is OK but for other cars, you need to know how close you can place your vacuum pump to the service valve/s.
There is a 72" length version.
.
To avoid :
Bull-sh-iet product, size is big at 1/2 inch but can't even beat the number 02 which is Yellow Jacket 3/8" by speed and final lowest vacuum.
03. You must get a micron gauge, MUST or you go in blind not knowing your true micron reading, which no analog vacuum gauge can display. Target under 500 microns.
Daikin for home HVAC when brand new, is 200 microns target for its techy.
Choose Fieldpiece or AccuTools

https://trutechtools.com/fieldpiece-...uum-gauge.html
I like Fieldpiece MG44 because its display is bigger and have more data like microns per minute, without using tablet for its Apps.
OTHERS==============
04. HVAC manifold I can't recommend any as their analog gauge even for pressure is lame. I will only want the Fieldpiece SMAN 480V but too expensive for me to buy it and use only once/twice per year.
I have two analog ones, one from China and 1 from Thailand. I don't use them anymore. Anyhow do not ever use charging manifold for vacuum work, you will waste time and
gain useless 200 to 300 plus microns value as those hoses are commonly poorly made for vacuum works and commonly too long and 1/4" hose is too small if for vacuum works.
I simply buy lots of good valves from Appion and 2 wireless pressure gauges from Fieldpiece. Less hose length and more direct connection is good.
Appion valves get 3 to 4 pcs so you can inject nitrogen for drying assist with ease: https://trutechtools.com/mgavct
Fieldpiece wireless pressure probe ( via Apps, its free ), get 2 : https://trutechtools.com/Fieldpiece-...Pressure-Probe
05. For R134A charging accuracy you need a good digital scale with minimum 5 grams accuracy, better 2 grams.
I got a China good upscale brand and it is good to 2 grams.
Don't use pressure based for charging our W212 HVAC system, use grams based as per WIS and this is the proper way anyway.
06. Vacuum pump. Up to you, once you have a micron gauge you can weed out garbage vacuum pumps. Buy dual stages one, not single stage. It has to be able to do at least 25 microns, or better.
Must have a 3/8" fitting. When below 300 micron is the target , the bottle neck is the vacuum hose if 1/4" hose being used, not the vacuum pump CFM/size.
============================
Be patient when doing vacuum on an old car. Take your sweet time, overnight is good.
Could be up to 12+ hours if you want to see under 350 microns when and if your system is already 7+ years if not using the TruBlu 3/4" hose.
Micron reading is to be taken at opposite end of vacuum pump. You vacuum at LP port, micron gauge is to be installed at HP Port.
If you install the micron gauge at the same LP port with your vacuum hose, you are reading more of your vacuum pump performance and not a true car's overall hose/pipe set vacuum/micron level.
Expect false good - 200 to -250 microns difference between the wrong reading spot vs the correct reading spot.
If you want to use 2 of that bang for the buck Yellow Jacket 3/8" vacuum rated charging hose , you can and buy the Y splitter and make sure you vacuum pump has a 3/8" fitting.
This one 3/8" : https://trutechtools.com/Appion-SPDY...Y-38-MFL-14-FL
Have fun with your HVAC DIY works....................
