W212 - E250CDI Whirring sound after gearbox breakdown

So my gearbox broke down at 200000km, more specifically my torque convertor broke down, which led to damage to the 4,5,6,7 gears I believe.
I was doing a long trip and when I came to a halt at a Toll boot, and was at standstill when I heard a loud bang and the engine shuddered violently and continuously. I had to pull over to the side and have the car towed.

I had the gearbox overhauled and the torque converter replaced twice. The first time was because I was getting a lockup clutch friction too high error and it was a 2nd hand torque converter. The whirring/wobbly/unbalanced sound was annoyingly loud. I was used to a smooth diesel engine prior to the breakdown for many years.
After replacing the torque convertor again the noise lessened substantially but reduced about 70%. I've done long trips with the car, the engine runs economically however it does get annoying when you put some load on the car. (attached is a video of the sounds)

Any idea what it could be? The noise appears under load from around 2000rpm. At high revs, its not that noticeable.
