Where did the text to my post go??
anyway, I bid you guys a fond farewell. Traded for a 2014 Tiquan with 38k miles for my son’s first car. Loved the 212, would buy again in a heartbeat! Got $12k for it at 80k miles, which I thought was fair enough, especially when the Tig was a one owner (elderly couple) in basically new condition for $14.5. Couldn’t come to terms internally to give the 212 to my son as his first car. We know what it begs for - 140mph on the Autobahn all day long…. Plus, couldn’t stand to witness what a teenager would’ve done to it after my 7 years of pristine care and upkeep.
if anyone in the DC area is in the market for a well maintained 212, it’s at the Audi dealership in Arlington….
I will miss it badly!! Her replacement for me, is a 2024 Ford Bronco Outerbanks with all the trimmings except mud buggy wheels/lift. Hope to see it by Memorial Day…. 100% midlife crisis toy!

Well,it was great having your insights and comments here on the forum, you will be missed. also I agree, giving this car to your son would not be the best route, we did this with my wife's '91 190E, daughter was away at college when it broke, no one local to work on it, had to have it towed 140 miles to the nearest Benz mechanic, bought her a new Ford Escort and drove it up there, lesson learned!

Just wanted to give you a heads up with the VW products if you weren't aware already ....they burn oil because of the design of the earlier piston and rings used by VW. Do a google search and you'll see what I'm referring to. My wife has a '14 Audi allroad (2.0 TFSI motor) and with 5k oci I have to add about 1/2 to 1 quart of oil to keep it topped up. I keep a watchful eye on the oil levels because of this. VW/Audi redesigned the rings and pistons after the '14 model year so the oil burning has been reduced. Just something to keep your eye on if you're the one who has to maintain the VW.
