Question 19'' Tire Size Help - W212

Good day ya'll.

Currently using 255 35 19 for the back tires with 9.5 19'' Borbet GTX wheels. Is that tire size too narrow for the W212?

My main goal would be for a little bit bigger sidewall due to the preventive rim damage caused by potholes. Does that have any sense or 19'' is just too big for potholes anyway?

What tire size would you suggest regarding that for prefacelift W212? Also, I'm currently looking at Hankooks Ventus S1 Evo 3 K127 or even SportContact 7's, what do you think about them, any advice?

Would 265 35 or 255 40 be better fit?

Really appreciate your help! Thanks!

The comparison calculator at tiresize.com can help you see the differences in sidewall height and overall diameter. Your best option might switching over to 18" wheels if wheel well clearances won't allow for more sidewall at 19".
