I’ve been trying to find a new steering wheel for the car since last June. When I had the bumpers repainted the body shop left me with a gift of a couple deep scratches that I couldn’t see past.
I looked into upgrading to a new style, sending it out to be rewrapped, recovering it myself with one of those kits, but finally landed on an already rewrapped wheel on eBay.
Genuine leather, same perforation at 3 and 9 o-clock, slightly thicker, but with gray stitching and a gray mark of course. Not exactly what I wanted, but certainly better than what I had.
Shout out to all the contributors on this forum for the many write ups. The time they spent documenting the process allowed for proper preparation, made installation uneventful and prevented any surprises.
Greasy old wheel.. Bought a new cover and switches(while I was in there). Transferred all the wiring, paddle shifters, and vibration motor. Fresh new wheel
Really happy with the quality of the wheel. Took a while to get it(shipped from Belarus) but couldn’t beat the price.
