Definitely they have changed it because I had to ask for it for both of my cars. It was a good argument at the dealer that if the driver seat would have behaved like the passenger seat you could not even drive the car with rear seat fold down on driver side. I think also having the extended warranty up to 7 years helped too...

But guys, we are not launching the space shuttle.

They are just folding seats. Other manufactures get by with a manual basis with no issues and so can I.
I fold the seats and in the E Class there is so much room they never interfere with the front seats.
I don't need a computer telling me if the seats are locked of down or whatever else, I think I can manage.
If your MB came with the coding for folding seats well GL in whatever you have to do.
I like my set up perfectly.
Actually, like the fact it never came with the coding, make life just a little simpler.
Hilarious, and kudos to ya!! That you have to explain yourself makes me laugh! "I think I can manage" should be repeated as often as possible

Very nice. When I got my W204 I was bummed out to realize the rear seats dont fold down, for some reason I thought it was a standard feature. My previous vehicles were Grand Cherokees so I was used to being able to fit anything. I'll have to look for replacement seats now, I would love to have this feature.

Not complicated in any way.
Did see it mentioned anywhere, but were the folding seats from a Saloon or Shooting Brake / Estate?

As far as the computer knows it still has the same seats.

The head rest connectors were exactly the same and were connected.

I'm really not sure what you guys are on about no codes no nothing.
As far as folding or locked it works perfectly.

It was really all just plug and play.

But I do appreciate the info.

How did you solve the headrest wiring harness issue? The non-folding backrest has three two-pin plugs, while the folding backrest has two plugs.

I’m confused about BenzNinja. Tried to contact him about a mod to my Distronic and received the reply that “it should be possible”. When I mentioned that I only needed the one mod and not a lifetime membership, he ghosted me. So it seems I should join the plan, pay extra for the mod $350 minimum, and rent the programming gear? Accepting all the positive reviews means he knows what he’s doing, it doesn’t seem to be a worthwhile service for just one mod like myself and the OP need. Or am I missing something?

So I need to remove the rear deck of my W212 and I have the folding rear seat. How do you remove the side bolsters?
