The right tail lamp sensor senses a right rear lamp bulb or socket or wiring problem
could be bulb out, could be a wiring problem at the right tail lamp socket, or at the Rear SAM (the in trunk fuse and connection box). Does this car have conventional halogen lamps in back, or does it have LED tail lights ? We never got a E200 CDI here.
use a volt meter to check for voltage at the right tail lamp bulb socket(if its incandescent), at the connector to the light fixture, and at the rear SAM output. you'll probably need access to a wiring diagram for the pinouts. As far as I know, the rear SAM is controlled with CANbus and commanded to turn the tail lights on and off.
