S212 Main beam to low
Hi there,
I have a 2011 E250 CDI 4MATIC (VIN: WDD2122821A574817) and I'm experiencing an issue with my main beam
headlamps—they are too low and cut off about 5 meters in front of the car.
While replacing the rear brake shield, I noticed sensors on the left and right sides in the rear and front left, if I remember correctly.
All these sensors were stuck, so I moved them around to loosen them up.
After doing this, the headlamps were at the correct height, but the next day, they returned to the low position again.
I suspect that these rear sensors control both the Airmatic suspension height and the beam height. The sensor arms are heavily rusted, and
the joints have corroded, causing them to become loose and rattle.
I'm considering replacing these sensors, but I'm facing a dilemma regarding which parts to use and whether the car needs to be
recalibrated after the replacement. One of the sensors has the part number A0045429918, but according to
my EPC, the correct part numbers should be either A2129053002 or the newer version A2125401617.
It's possible that a previous owner replaced the sensors at some point.
When checking online for prices, I noticed a significant difference: A2125401617 costs $202, while A0045429918 is only $82—less than half the price.
I'm unsure whether to go with the cheaper option or the more expensive one.
Can anyone explain the differences between these parts and advise on which one I should choose?
Also, do I need to recalibrate the car's level after replacing the sensors?
Thanks for your help!

Follow your EPC. I looked at my EPC of 2018 and the one in RED A0045429918 is not for W212.
