Original injector part number for E400 injector?

Hello, C400 owner here.

I pulled my driver's side fuel rail and injectors today, intending to change one failing injector.

What I found (I don't think car has ever been apart) were injectors with part number A 278 070 06 87, my replacement part was A 256 070 01 87.

I installed the new injector (believing it was a new part with a superceding, but compatible PN), but I could not get the injector coding to work.

If anyone has taken their factory E400 (M276.8 3.0L TT) injectors out, what was your original part number?

The catalog has both PN as applicable to my engine (276.820) but I've never had to take one out. What scanner are you using to code the new injector in? @S-Prihadi probably has as several pictures of the ones from his engine if I had to bet!

It was a Autel MaxiSys MS906BT. It's a couple of years old, but it should be able to code injectors on a car from 2015.

Now that I thought about it a bit more, the ECU has no way to tell which injector is there and that is why we need to manually load the injector quantity compensation into the ECU. I'm not familiar with the scanner you are using, but I would guess if you are unable to update the code, it might be related to the tool and not the different injector PN.

forget all the HS------check here for compatibility and yes you need SCN coding and that will need and online XDOS account---install the correct injector and run to the dealer for coding bla bla bla
Mercedes / Car > Mercedes EPC Online > nemigaparts.com

Maybe calm down with the "HS" talk, we're adults, so we can act like it.

Thank you for the link, the original part number I found in my car is what that site lists, but it also lists an analog PN, I've never seen mentioned in the US. Interesting.

Hundreds, if not thousands of people have used Autel devices to code in MB/Sprinter injectors and other bidirectional tasks like teach-in and adaptations, if I need to pay for the MB xdos through Autel (my scanner supports that function, but I've yet to need it)... You could have just said that.

My main point is that you must not be familiar with MB SCN and I would read up on the subject before replacement
