I have a little challenge, my girlfriend who drives my lovely W212 Wagon is having some problems.
When she is out shopping, she has a tendency to open the tailgate with the remote control, and to free her hands, she place the remote control on the floor of the trunk, presses the close button on the tailgate....
And wupti there is the remote control inside a locked car.
Is there some way of programming, so that when she activates "open the tailgate on the remote control" ALL doors automatically unlock at the same time and remain "open" even if my girlfriend closes the tailgate ?

I thought the car will not lock if key is inside. My sedan trunk pops right up again when I press the close-and-lock button on the trunk lid if my keys are inside the trunk. It will close first but open right up again. Originally Posted by Timo Schroeder

My S550 behaves exactly the same way.
I would think the wagon tailgate would also behave like this if all systems work correctly…?
