I have been looking for this part for the last few weeks with zero success. The closest I've found is a Dorman part for GM vehicles that is identical in looks but with different dimensions. Dorman makes these in a variety of sizes but none are close the the MB part. I have also found some non-brand Amazon copies that again are identical but with incorrect dimensions.
This is for a 2011 with 772 styling package (front bumper and side skirts). This rivet is used in a couple locations in the fender liner/front bumper/airshield location.
I was able to find them on amazon. I think it was amazon. I purchased a package of 50 of them for less than $20. I will take a peek at my email and see if I cannot figure out where I ordered them from
It's a plastic pin....I am 100% positive that MB uses a low bid ISO part for these. It's a plastic pin. No possibility of a performance or function improvement.
I bought alternative rivet once, looks very similar but the plastic material not so good.
The expanding part can't stand the abuse of remove-install more than 2-3 times.
My rivets been out-in at least 20-30 times for most areas using them.
Yup, and if one breaks...in about six or eight months it will make it to the trash on the rare occasion that I clean the edges of the floor in the garage. My cars are most certainly not show cars needing 100% OEM parts. Most certainly not an over priced clip.
