I'd like to have a go at the same, and I do already have a launch system that was mentioned earlier in the thread, so can let you know on that. Did you ever try the engineering menu?

I already have the android auto/carplay box fitted but just fitted another in my friends car who has the bigger 7 inch screen and it looks so much better.

Yes that's because the interface from the android auto/CarPlay box is made at 800*480 and if you use the small screen everything is just scaled onto the smaller screen and it just doesn't fit the pixels (pixel perfect).

I also have a Launch creader elite V2.0. With the Launch I have looked in the head unit as well but have found nothing that looks like it has anything to do with the resolution output of the head unit.

Also with the engineering menu on the head unit itself. I can't find any option that seems to have anything to do with the resolution output. But yeah it could be that the terminology is not that straight forward and that there some random value that needs to be changed somewhere and then the resolution changes.

Would be nice if someone finds it. I have to switch to summertime but I'm postponing the switching of the screens because of the hassle haha.

I just realized that maybe I could disable the time synchronization between the instrument cluster and the head unit with my Launch odb reader. And it turned out I could, so I did. I disabled time synchronization and now I have an option to set the time and date of my instrument cluster clock in the instrument cluster itself 😊 No more need to switch screens anymore. I will keep an eye on this thread however 😊
