Even BMW recognize the use of starter for engine oil priming

I been doing oil priming when my car been dormant for more than 3 weeks and when I do oil changes.
BMW even adviced such method, anytime the oil is drained from the engine, meaning oil change is included.

The BMW N55 engine oil filter placement is the same as M276, M272, M278 and M157 its high up at LEFT side of engine front
Easier to watch the FCP Euro video
I do the same thing on my friend's yacht diesel engine too. Prime the oil pump using starter and we have true mechanical gauge in engine room to witness oil pressure building up.
The flybridge helm station get electrical engine oil pressure gauge.
================
If you have Xentry, you can use the Compression Test feature to do this.
I have posted this information long time ago, here : https://mbworld.org/forums/e-class-w...operation.html
So, if anyone thinks oil priming using starter is a waste of time and must use special pressurized oil pump, its your choice.
=============
For M157, Xentry does not allow Compression Test feature . Xentry compression test is actually similar to Relative Compression test, but with piston speed data, instead of
battery current data for those doing Relative Compression test
So u need to unplug all 8 injector wires...duggghh and clear up DTC after the test. Damn.
Keep your engine healthy........

Me only dare to use Xentry for Compression Test, because one of the requirement ( when all ready ) is to fully open throttle ( accelerator pedal 100% pedal to metal ) and press brake.
It won't be fun if engine suddenly turn ON and our accelerator pedal at 100%
....when and if such feature went bad on 3rd party scanner.Me only dare to use Xentry for Compression Test, because one of the requirement ( when all ready ) is to fully open throttle ( accelerator pedal 100% pedal to metal ) and press brake.
