2011 (pre-facelift) front driveshaft re-installation
Sorry, forgot to put E550 in the title. 4Matic obviously.
Removing the old broken prop shaft was effortless. Fell right out.
I have the front flange of the new one wedged in just under the exhaust manifold (not too difficult to get it in there) but from that position, I can't get it to slide back onto the spline, nor can I rotate it.
Hoping someone has firsthand experience with this. Frustrated and waiting for my headlamp to charge.
After a few more attempts it seems like loosening the passenger motor mount and lifting the right side of the engine just a bit might allow me to rotate the flange (forward) to line up the rear spline?
