Airmatic issue: 2011 S212

Our wagon had simply quit rising.. I found the compressor was shot (170k miles, Chicago car) replaced it and the air valve block. The compressor works fine, although this Arnott unit is a lot louder. When the car is stopped the car only stays up for 10 or 15 min in the cold (5 to 25F) - it started doing this years back but I figured it was due to the compressor rusting out - I expected it to clear up with the new one. We took a road trip with the car fully loaded (several hundred Lbs) and it worked fine on the road. Got to warmer weather, 70F plus and the car did not drop for 36hrs till one night the temp went down to 45F and it dropped. What would be temperature sensitive in this system? really weird. thanks

You’ve got a leak in the system. These cars do rest after being shut off naturally though.. The rubber bellows are temp sensitive, as well as the airlines.

can you pressure test the system with xentry or star(last year of star for that model)? It will check running times and pressures between components as well as electrically operated valves.

I recently put these products in my 2011.. Half the price as OE....looked and work like OE. Plus, USA built.

The biggest temperature sensitive part is air inside the spring.

When it was down did it come back up and stay up in the cold weather?

Have the rear air springs ever been replaced? My air springs on my '11 S212 went out @100k miles with the left rear sagging overnight and the compressor cycling on and off to keep air in it. I replaced both rear air springs with Arnotts about 3 years ago and have been happy. The air springs develop micro cracks due to weather and age and eventually start leaking air from these micro cracks...useful life from my research has been about 10 years before needing attention.
