722.694 gearbox changed to different code
Hello, a friend of mines w212 2.1 diesel gearbox broke . Original gearbox code was 722.694 which is w5a330 , he sourced another gearbox and TCM almost for free which is 722.646 w5a580 out of same year 2010 2.1 diesel w212 car,
He changed the gearbox but it goes into fault mode with original gearbox TCM EGS53 (faults gear 1-2-3 slipping)if you drive agressively with manual it drives almost well with no fault codes.
if he plugs TCM (EGS53) that came with the new gearbox, it drives perfectly until 3rd gear and then goes into fault mode. If you change gears manually it goes into fault mode same second the 3rd gear engages.
any solutions? I have read somewhere that scn coding needs to be modified as the gear ratio or axle ratio are different , but would want to hear some more opinions and if anyone could help..
