Interesting option codes
I was checking out a 2014 E550 for sale with VIN: WDD2120911A925414
A few mystery codes jumped out to me:
I wonder if N03 through N14 mean this particular car got inspected at extra intervals during the body finishing process as a process control...
But I have no guesses about the manual date control, exchange not allowed, and special front end codes.
A few mystery codes jumped out to me:
- 003 MANUAL DATE-CONTROLLED VEHICLE
- N03 DISCHARGE AFTER TOP COAT
- N05 DISCHARGE BODYSHELL Z1
- N13 DISCHARGE BODY ONTO KTL DISCHARGE BELT
- N14 DISCHARGE BODY AFTER KTL BEFORE SEAM SEALANT APP.
- N29 EXCHG. NOT ALLOWED,BODY/ORDER AS OF BODYSH.W/O PA1
- N34 INTRODUCE SPECIAL FRONT END RB

interesting. you've been helpful to me in the past. I'll try to return the favor.....
not called an E500.
076 after the previous code....?? why two codes? maybe transition unit.
003 means part of a specific production, testing, or development sequence.
many of the other early codes are related to specific body preparations (e.g. pre-paint, paint, etc.) and movement within the factory. Why on build sheet? Maybe the body prep is custom or checking on Quality Control.
N34 is a special or modified front end assembly. exactly, idk.
N37 indicated that some assembly, after the body prep, occurred in a specific factory location. for special parts, inspections, quality testing? all possible.
mine has many of the same 'normal' build codes for features and options.
maybe check EPC to see if there are interesting front end parts. GLWSearch

You're right, they're usually called an E500...
How much would I give for Mercedes' internal option code database...
