Yes, the entire W213 headlight assembly looks boring. The distinctive dual fish hooks of the W212 (full LED pkg.) have been eliminated.

Boring also sums up my overall impression of the W213 exterior; the rear end is especially disappointing. The smaller rear window will also adversely affect rearward sight lines.

I find the fishhook (good description) headlights on the 2014 one of the most objectionable parts of the facelift. For that reason alone I prefer the 2017 headlights.

I think 2017 headlights will be an acquired taste.

They should have gone back to the quad headlights, which everyone should agree on.

It's a very specific headlight design to feature the new multi beam LED's which are actually not coming to the US.
So you get the design without the benefit. As usual, due to some outdated DOT regulations, all cool headlight tech is not in the US models and Audi, BMW and Mercedes give you dumbed down versions that just look the same.

They don't look that bad in person. I do prefer the W212 Facelift version though.

The new headlights are more classy/elegant than the 2014 which is too "bling" for my taste.
Agreed with others the pre-facelift quad lights are more fitting for the E class but heh this is a 2017MY so changes are to be expected.

My E's extended warranty will be up in Sept 2017 so hopefully the BlueTec version will be out by then.
