Question about First Class Appearance protection
Greetings,
I posted the following question on the Extended Warranty but received no response. Perhaps I might get lucky among fellow E300 owners.
Greetings,
Have any of you purchased the First Class Appearance Plus protection package (Tire & Wheel Plus, windshield, dent) as described below on MD website?
https://www.mbfs.com/mbfsr/en/faqs/f...sAppearance.do
I'm interested in the package due to the repair cost of the run flat tires installed on the new E300. I'm in California and can only obtain the package from a CA dealer. I'd appreciate any comment on the pricing and dealer where you purchased the package.
Best Regards,

I believe it was about 1600 for that package they had a couple additional options for 2000 and 2600 but they all seemed outrageous. The dealer also tried to sell me lojack for 765

I would IMMEDIATELY swap out the run flat tires for conventionals and get a compact spare so you are covered. I did that on my S550. I don't worry about potholes or road hazards. This is the way it is SUPPOSED to be, regardless of what the idiots (yes, there are idiots in Germany, as well as everywhere else) at the factory seem to think.

Sounds like a good plan. I think the run flats were installed to reduce weight and therefore boost the MPG figures. Second, it encourages buyer to purchase the protection package--A win/win strategy for MB, not so good for us.
Thanks.
Thanks.
