checked with my dealer today when I was picking up my S213. The part is (going to be) $500.00, but can't yet be ordered. Add about an hour of work, and you're looking at about $650.00. I am pretty sure that I'll be going for that option. Scratches aside, just the fingerprints show nastily on the glossy surface that is (was) standard...
This is very good especially after seeing scratches in piano black console in my 1 month old car!!. My metal weave trim could look great as central console and looks scratch resistant as well..
I think you mentioned it already but I want to re-verify before I purchase. Does that cover/lid come with the panel? It shows as a different part number.

Yes
I fell for that too and ordered the lid as well and ended up with 2.
The trim comes with the cover/lid, and mine - at least - had perfectly matched grain. It took me about an hour to swap it. I recommend taking lots of photos to document exactly where each connector goes. I paid about $420, not including shipping.
Console reassembled, prior to installation and connections.

I ordered through Krysta Smith at Sears Imported Autos, Inc in Minnetonka, MN. You will need to acknowledge that you are buying a part for a car other than your own.(Mine is a 2017, and the part # is for 2018(?).)
