Yes - the pad for the wireless charging is inside the compartment in front of the cup holders - to the left of the USB outlet. There's another thread on this forum about people's experience with it - it works reliably for some, not so much for others. (Also, your iPhone needs to support wireless charging, which it most likely does...)

Not unless you have a wireless charging case on your iPhone as it does not support wireless charging natively.

Wireless charging uses NFC, NOT bluetooth. For your iPhone you need to get a NFC charging case, or dongle....

The NFC charging pocket in the council always pops up Apple Pay, which is annoying.

ugh, so mad the iPhone 7 doesn't have wireless charging. They better add that to the 8.

Personally I view I phone or android auto as useless. If I need navigation the MB system is great and fully integrated with the car, you can even upload your route with the Mercedes me app the day before and not have to fuss with the car system at all! You can also play any tune on your phone wirelessly through Bluetooth! So what additional advantages does phone integration have??????? Furthermore, MB does not have a touch screen (which is fine with me) so what is the whole idea? I don't get it.
personally I think phone integration is great for less featured entertainment systems for example if you wave a non-nav, non-bluetooth equipped system. In a car with command system its superfluous, plus you have to run it wired!

If you are happy to put up with the restrictive and at times backwards Mercedes Command system. And a pretty static out of sate system at that.

The technology is there to have the phone present the phone screen wirelessly to the HU which can be touch screen, essentially presenting your phone screen as the head unit, giving you all the functionality of the phone directly complete with staying right up to date.

You can use apps such as Waze for navigation which makes the Mercedes system pre-historic.

I had all of this in my Saab due to their standard stereo system which was easy to replace.

Unfortunately both Apple Carplay and Google Auto are being restricted in what they can and can't do which is a shame and makes then nowhere near as effective.

Command is far from making such integration superfluous, especially if Mercedes want to keep up with their competition who are leaps ahead of them.

Well at least CarPlay can respond to text messages, unlike the COMAND Unit. I have found no need to use CarPlay for anything else, but I would still like the wiresless charging feature. Also, on some newer versions of apple CarPlay, the car can connect wirelessly and does not need the wire. Of course this is not possible currently with the E

It works great in my new 2017 E300 but I have a Samsung S7 with NFC, I don't think it works with any Iphones.

NFC and wireless charging are two entirely different things, so don't get them confused.

NFC is a contactless communication system used to control applications such as contactless pay.

Wireless charging does not have any requirements on NFC, a phone can have wireless charging capability and no NFC capability.

iPhones have NFC (even though Apple restrict its use), but none have wireless charging built in. You can buy cases for the iPhone which do have wireless charging capability in them.

Wireless charging is also quite a bit slower than wired and many phones struggle to charge and use apps at the same time. essentially just about keeping the battery percentage at the same level as when it started charging.

My bad :-), that is absolutely correct. Luckily NFC and QI charger are combined in the MB console....

iPhone 6 supports NFC BUT only for apple pay and not other 3rd party application.

You can find Apple Car play information in the MB Manual Page 244.

Has anyone tried using a wireless charging case on their 6S Plus or 6 Plus with the E class's wireless charger? I just bought a Mophie wireless charging/extended battery case and it does not fit in the compartment

What do all of you iPhone 6/6S Plus users use to wirelessly charge your phones?
