What Did the Dealer Try to Sell You on Delivery?
I am interested in what options your MB dealer presented when you came in to pick up an ordered car. What did you buy or pass on and why? Extended warranty? Service package? Underbody treatment? etc.
Thanks!
Thanks!

I picked up my E300 on Friday, January 20th.
The F&I after sale was done very professionally and was in my mind a soft sale.
What did I buy?
1. From my selling dealer, I purchased the prepaid maintenance for its list price of $1125. Because I am leasing, and the prepaid maintenance package is residualized, I ended up paying $13 a month for 36 months for 3 services; two A services and one B services. Anyone who leases should buy this. It is a terrific value.
2. First Class Wheel and Tire protection Plus. Mandatory with 19 inch wheels and living in area where roads are plagued with potholes. Every car I had with larger wheels has had numerous tire and wheel damages. Every time I have saved money with this policy. You can price shop this product at various dealers. Check the forum below on extended warranty sellers and you will have a good sense of a fair pricing. My dealer was more than 50% higher and no problems with my going to another dealer to buy this product. Best to buy it within a day or two of taking delivery.
3. Optional mbrace packages. Passed on it. Did not see the value.
4. Ding, end of lease protection, etc. Pass. I keep my cars in a condition that in 30+ years never had a charge during lease turn in.
Was not offered paint protection, under body protection, or other nonsence as my dealer is a rare breed....being ethical.
BTW.....love the new car.

This is an insurance product that covers your wheels and tires from damage caused by road hazards and can also offer cosmetic protection if you need to get your wheel refinished because of curb rash.
Should you buy it? You need to assess your risk factors.
1. 19 inch wheels with the lower profile tires are more prone to damage
2. Are the roads you drive on have problems with significant potholes (more a problem during the rain and winter conditions).
3. If the policy costs $1100, and your 19 inch runflat tires cost $350 installed, and if the wheel needs to be refinished, another $150 or needs replacement, $1,500. And you have a few incidents over the length of your coverage.
For some, the risks are very low and people are willing to self fund the risk. My risks are higher and wheel and tire insurance has worked for me for the last 6 leases that I have had. Just do the math and then consider whether insuring that risk is good for you.

I went to Discount Tire and insured my RF tires for their life, including balancing and rotations every 5k miles for $150. Best deal ever.
I know this does not cover the wheels but with all the cameras on P3 there's no excuse for me to hit curbs when parking, and I garage park at home and work. I'm rolling the dice on the wheels.
Only item i bought on was on was the prepaid maintenance for my lease.

You can get a better price on the extended warranty from the dealers mentioned in the extended warranty sub-forum, typically around $1k cheaper.

Thanks. I just read through all seven years of that thread. Bottom line, as you say, is there appears to be a few other MB dealerships who will sell you both the extended warranty and the prepaid maintenance plans at a discount. I have not tried this guy so cannot speak from personal experience. Usually I have shied away from extended warranties but might consider one for this car.
