yeah but I've also seen them with some sports seats but only in the US. Vertical lines on seats are the comfort/luxury seats and horizontal lines the sports seats. Everywhere else in the world (that I know) you can't get the folding headrests with the sports seats.

Having said that, in the rest of the world, you can't get massaging seats with sports seats (AMG line Interior). So I suspect all seats in the US may actually be comfort seats and the horizontal trimmed seats in the US are not actual sports seats just trimmed to look like they are. I say this because the sports seats are not available on US version GLS whereas they are everywhere else and I recall that the comfort seats on US model BMWs were functionally different from those on rest of the world models...something about the size of the US driver.

Considering that most of the w213s I see in Europe are AMG-line versions, I can't see why Merc would deny themselves the opportunity of making an extra 2500 Euros from the massage option on all those cars except that the sports seats are truly functionally different to the seats that can accommodate the massage function.

I've ben trying to figure it out as well and was under the impression:

Horizontal lines indicate real leather.

Adjustable headrest are included with prem 2 package/active seats as "6 way head restraints with adjustable side flaps". Also included in nappa leather for luxury package.

This may be incorrect, but hope its not.

The top ones match the leather sport seats in my E300 - The headrests' front pillow can be adjusted like those found on airplanes.
The bottom one are the MB-Tex seats in the US.

I'm puzzled. I just drove a loaner that came with MB-Tex multi contour seats last week. They looked like the lower picture, but have all of the bell and whistles of my upgraded seats.

I believe the only whistle not available with MBTex is the ventilated seats, if I remember right.....
