Lock Door With Engine Running

Please don't judge me but if my car is very frosted I like to lock it with the engine running while I eat my cereal. (I have another car in my garage).
This means visibility is perfect as I drive off.

My last car was a 5 series and I could simply hop in, start the car then get out and lock it.

This morning, I started my W213 but found it wouldn't lock from the outside. I have keyless entry if it helps.

Can anyone suggest a workaround that will allow me to lock the car from the outside with the engine running?

Good point - here in the U.K. we have to go to a dealer with ID and the registration document to enable all of the remote services. I haven't got round to that yet as the dealer is an hour round trip from work...

You've probably just given me the prod I needed!

I don't think the remote start will activate the rear window defroster because I noticed when I would try that, the rear window would still be frosted.
