Bluetooth Audio Issue

I've googled the topic without getting a valid result for this issue. There's a high pitch noise emitted from the audio system whenever I play music from my cell phone over the Bluetooth connection. The noise is constant and increase in proportion with the music's volume. It stops between songs and not presents in other audio source. Do you have the same issue?

Have you tried listening to the same audio from your cell phone via headphones to see if the same noise is present to rule out the source?

I'll pair up the E300 with another phone and check the result. I'll also test the BT connection with anoyther device.

Thanks

I get the exact same with a Nexus 5. That phone's been paired with 6 other cars with no problem except my old w212 (though on that music was fine but phone calls were garbled). Listening via headphones is perfectly clear so it's definitely the merc not liking the phone.

The whine isn't so bad that I can notice it above the music, I only hear it during silent or near silent sections of tracks so am just accepting it for now.

It's the car and there's no fix.

I've seen this problem in the '16 & '17 C-Classes and '17 E300 as well with my phone (Note 4). What makes it worse for me is that most of what I listen to are podcasts, spoken word, so i hear it between each word until the radio's noise gate kicks in. It also is very prevalent when listening to opera & classical recordings as well. My phone's been paired with 20+ other cars and probably 15+ bluetooth receivers in buildings and never experienced a glitch in audio. EXCEPT in Mercedes-Benz cars. It stutters and drops out in my 2015 E350. Then again, EVERY phone I've tried in my E350 does that, but MB says it's "functioning as designed."
