Found this Crux VIMMB-85P https://assets.sonicelectronix.com/m...85P_manual.pdf
I have used many Crux products in the past and the interfaces are pretty reliable.
I wonder if anyone have tried this. I'm think about trying it myself.

I bought mine straight from Crux. I work in the industry so I get it at dealer cost. I just plug it in at the obd2 and wait for the light to get solid blue. It took about 5 seconds and voila worth every penny. Just load up bunch of videos for my CA trip this weekend.
PS. I use the return button from the right steering wheel control to escape from full screen when the cop pulls next to you.

Just 'installed' it. Works flawlessly.
With a Lexar 512gb SSD drive, and TunesKit for Mac (converts an iTunes .m4v file to a DRMless .mp4 file). I can take any iTunes movie with me in the car.
Now... i just need to find someone to drive for me so I can watch the movies!

I fail to understand why anyone would watch a movie while driving. I may be wrong but while watching the movie why not spark a joint and open a bottle of vodka and really enjoy the ride.
I guess I am showing my age. I don't get it. Every year that goes by, I'm just dumber and dumber.

Does anyone know if this will allow you to STREAM video?

These cars are designed for the greater fool theory. There is a reason why you cannot use many features manually while the car is motion. If a hand set phone is a distraction that kills more people than DUI's , wouldn't a movie on the front screen be even more dangerous?
Why do so many people fight common sense?

Yes, I have grandchildren that sit in the back seat and can watch on the screens in the back.

for someone who wants to watch a movie WHILE driving, they can also do that with a laptop or phone-- at least if they use the middle screen, their eyes are closer to the road than they would be looking into the passenger seat

In the US the law varies by jurisdiction.
In Florida no motor vehicle operated on the highways shall be equipped with television-type receiving equipment so located that the viewer or screen is visible from the Driver’s seat. A global positioning system device may be placed on a windshield if it does not hinder the driver’s line of sight.

I should not argue this case because it applies to so few people. That being said, if it were only about you, I say do it. However, we all share the road with other drivers and are responsible for the harm we may cause due to our selfishness. Statistics are not on your side regarding distracted driving.

I genuinely cannot believe anyone thinks it's safe to operate 2 tons of machinery at 80 odd mph on mixed use roads whilst texting/applying make up/reading a map on the steering wheel or wherever the hell else has them 100 precent occupied on the wrong task. It's baffling and when they screw up they involve a lot of others in the resulting misery, whether it's by crashing in to them or poor emergency services who have to scrape them off the road and inform next of kin.

Driving down the highway today doing 70 kilometres per hour this is the speed limit here I did what my car and its modern
electronics let me do as it actively guide me on the road with autonomous self driving and of course accident-free driving with the
vehicle’s sensors detecting an impending hazardous situation.
yes I was driving with the cruise control on set at 70 kilometres per hour feet off the car's accelerator and hands off the wheel for only short stretches at a time as I was looking at the football game
that's Australian rules football on my screen the car did not need me it was going along very happily only giving me instructions from time to time and I did exactly as I was asked to do by in my cars electronics so maybe I was NOT driving the car looking at the football the car was driving itself I was not in charge but the car was in charge of itself to a large degree.
Thanks to all the electronic professors and engineers that made this possible with out you none of this would have been possible in this world today. I salute you all who ever you may be.
