Live Traffic Navigation Issues

Those of you downplaying the traffic issue should realize this is a much bigger issue. This car is built on connectivity, car to car, internet, and more. The fact that live traffic is down is just part of bigger problem. I wonder how many other systems are not working because internet connectivity is offline. To me this is a real problem and MB needs to be up front about it. They've obviously got the mbrace team trained on what to say to hide the problem. I think this is class action level stuff.]
For some reason, JD Power (and consumer review websites) think people really want OnStar and similar systems. Ma & Pa Kettle go to their MB dealership and say, "Well, the Cadillac has OnStar, why doesn't a Mercedes?" Congrats...we have it whether we want it or not. It's the same reason many US-spec MBs have "MAX COLD" buttons on the AC panels instead of more useful things like REST.

I find the problem is if you turn on the car in an area with poor or no Verizon service, the car does not get Internet. This means no life traffic and it also means no Internet searching for navigation destinations or other net other Internet related services. For example, I cannot say navigate to Hilton in Los Angeles. In my experience it will never get Internet as long as the car is on. I read or heard something that said something in the car relies on a wireless connection from the modem to the head unit. I don’t know if that is true or if they were confused with the wireless Internet aspect.

All new Mercedes models offer Android Auto and Apple Car Play as an option, so there is no reason to use Mercedes Navi. You can also use Waze app...

That is a cheap work around for an integrated system that was promised. At $140k for my 2018 E63s wagon & $190k for my new S63, I was promised this tech. I paid for it. MB has failed us. They refuse to tell owners and potential buyers that you can’t actually activate features that are included in the user interface. MB is not being honest.

I don't know about car-to-car connectivity as I have not been in a situation that could use that feature.
I would not use weather maps either. Our weather is quite boring - same every day.

I too am a Florida boy. USF grad. I don’t think because you have nice weather that excuses MB I did the update to 2018 from 2016 on all my cars for the tech & a bit more power. I would have waited to 2019 if I knew. The 2018 cars will never be updated. The much promised technology was deleted for us here in North America. Thats a big problem. Future value of our cars will be hurt. I’m a huge fan of the brand. I’ve bought 25 MB cars to date. I think we 2018 S & E owners are due an answer that is truthful.

Promised technology? I've never seen any promises for technology that is not in my car. I've seen statements about technology that may be offered in the future with no exact dates or model years or countries. The US has technology that is not offered in other markets and vice versa.

live traffic navigation issues (TMC)
I have a W213 E-class coupe, purchased in June 2017, since new the drive pilot intermittently loses it brain and drifts over the white lines at highway speed, drifts over lanes, now this does not happen all the time, I do keep a hand on the wheel , just with a light touch, I see it doing this and let it do the lane change to if it corrects itself, very intermittent.
Second problem is no voice announcements, no display (in text) of any blockage or delays ahead on route, plus the "TMC" disappears on the GPS display and will not reset unless the vehicle has been turned off for more then 3 minutes, Also no speed alert or display of speed in heads up or on screen.
Does anybody have these issues? I have been in contact with MB and they tell me the vehicle is "operating normally" and the they are trying to blame Intelematics, the company with supplies the "live" data for the GPS to know of any road issues.
please help?

Still no Traffic info in Canada.
Still no Traffic info in Canada ... promised ... waiting ... sigh ...
Too bad Car Play won't use the Google map. Last time I tried on my iPhone, traffic on Google map was way better than on Apple map.
