Live Traffic Navigation Issues
I want to thing I've seen it on this thread several times but can't remember exactly where. Has anybody else had issues with live traffic failing to show? It had been a somewhat intermittent issue, but now appears to be more often than not. Traffic on CarPlay works fine. Craziest thing is that when I go to the Navigation menu, traffic is still clicked on. I've clicked it off and on thinking that may restart it. Overnight resets (the car sitting) don't restart it. Thoughts?

Yes, I have had this happen. More often than not, my car will be on the radio screen and not the nav so I probably dont notice this as much. Sometimes, when I do click over to Navi, I notice there is no traffic, and also the "LIVE Traffic" Icon doesn't show on the bottom corner. Sometimes it comes back during the drive, and other times it will come back when I start the car.

I've experienced exactly the same issues you both described. This has been an intermittent problem since I purchased my E300 last August. However, in the last couple of months, it's become an increasingly frequent issue, to the point that the live traffic feature doesn't work more than 50% of the time. This is a big annoyance, especially living in Southern California where there's always traffic. I placed a call to Mbrace today and was told to call back on Monday and ask for tech support. They think the provider (TomTom) may be the issue. I'll let you know what they say. BTW, if you guys want the phone number for Mbrace, it's (888) 826-6330.

The answer they gave you blaming the traffic provider is garbage. The fact Is that the internet connectivity in this car has gotten to be garbage as well. I've called mbrace several times with a "promise" to be called back but I'm pretty certain they know there is an issue and nothing they can do about it. I live in SoCal, too, so it's possible this is a regional issue with internet connectivity but I'm lucky if I get connectivity 25% of the time.
Real letdown for the "most technically advanced car on the road".

I'm in SoCal too and this issue is more than maddening. It's inoperative way more than 50% of the time. Mbrace completely fails to even acknowledge any responsibility and always tells me to go to the dealer (yeah right) or that it is a Verizon issue. It's a complete waste of money. I've given up even trying to contact them about the issue.

My solution has been Car Play, except - if I hadn't connected it before I started driving I'm out of luck. JGS, let us know what they say. I agree with Jarvis that when a car is supposedly this much technologically advanced it should never be an issue. I had a 2008 BMW for 8 years; live traffic (or as live as it ever was back then) never failed.

My '08 BMW 535i navigation had many more features that the current MB navigation. One section of the LCD showed your location on the map with any traffic impediments while the other could optionally show the turn by turn directions including distance to the turn. A single click showed the distance and details of each "incident" along the route.

Those of you downplaying the traffic issue should realize this is a much bigger issue. This car is built on connectivity, car to car, internet, and more. The fact that live traffic is down is just part of bigger problem. I wonder how many other systems are not working because internet connectivity is offline. To me this is a real problem and MB needs to be up front about it. They've obviously got the mbrace team trained on what to say to hide the problem. I think this is class action level stuff.
While I agree with the car play and android auto workarounds, this car is supposed to be one of the most technically advanced. Sadly, with each passing day, week, and month I am just counting the days left in my lease. So much promise but maybe too much too early for MB in this car.

You need to check whether RDS-TMC live traffic information is available in your city.

Thank you Mitch105 for this... another disappointment from MB Canada...
yes i can use CarPlay but why advertise a feature then not make it available. you can't get traffic via SiruxXM on the 2017 E300/400 (which was offered on my C400), so either via FM band (TMC) or via the an internet based service but neither seem to be working in canada !!!

I have a 2017 E300...In the US what highways are supposed to show traffic levels?....Currently I only see the Green-Yellow-Red lines on Interstate highways. Is this also supposed to be shown for US highways, state highways?
Thanks in advance for any info you can pass along.

The nav system also has other issues including telling me to turn left when the map shows to turn right and being very slow to prompt...especially after having just made a turn where you need to make another very soon....it's really a big disappointment.

We called MB back in January, after our first 3,200 mile trip to complain about the route guidance system. They said they hadn't had any complaints about it and nothing was in the works to enhance it. Our dealer, isn't any help. Should really file a complaint with the NHTSB. We're used to getting a two mile heads up with our Tacoma and our previous autos also.
We have reverted back to 2005 and use an old Garmin and/or Google map for route guidance.
Live traffic.....well, sometimes it's there and sometimes it isn't. Learned not to depend upon it.

LIVE traffic is the WORST!!! 2018 E400C

Called Mbrace...they kept repeating thanks for the feedback, take it to the dealer...they will not take responsibility for a crap system...If I pull up WAZE or google maps or apple maps it always shows the red when in traffic...so you can see where it opens up...
The worst is I cannot get Sirius traffic with this car...(2018 E400 coupe)..we are stuck with their Live (Dead) Traffic ...

It looks like Orange is the new red since the 405, 5, 10 & 101 are always bumper to bumper. If that is the normal state of affairs, there's no point in making it red. You'll still get on it and add to the problem...

traffic fail
The live traffic is not working in my, first in Canada, 2018 E63s AMG wagon. Head office said it's not going to work in my $140,000.00 wagon, ever! They are skipping 2018!
