Eco Off™ for Mercedes-Benz
Hi all,
Has any one tried this Eco Off™ for Mercedes-Benz E 2017 on there car yet from Mid City Engineering on there web site it is showing that Mid City Engineering™ is now offering the only Eco Off™ solution available for your Mercedes Benz vehicle. The factory Eco feature defaults to the ‘On’ mode every time the vehicle is restarted- but not anymore. With our all new Eco Off™ interface, Eco is set to ‘off’* upon vehicle start up, providing you complete control! Its $174.00 *Eco mode is not disabled and can still be used when desired. If you are using this in your car please tell me how it is going for you. cheers |
174 dollars to save pressing a button by your thigh on the few trips where the stop start may annoy you! Even i draw the line at that level of laziness and i, I'm sure this is oxymoronic, work hard to be lazy!
|
Maybe i have more than a few million $ so $174 is no big deal but the question was
"If you are using this in your car please tell me how it is going for you". So please stay on topic why is there always one smart a55 in every group By the way Mid City Engineering dose not ship to Australia just for your info..... |
Not being smart and money in the bank doesn't feature in my view that spending money to do such a minor change, which could also invalidate warranty, seems ridiculously nuggatory.
|
"which could also invalidate warranty" maybe it would maybe it would not its all irreverent if any one wants it they will go and buy
it let people do how they please in the end it's always your choice how and what you do. |

just wanted to know if any one had this in their car and how was working for them....... |
In the UK, my car defaults to Comfort mode...
|
I don't know why some people must always try to reinvent the wheel.
|
I hated the auto start stop in the beginning. Now, I like it. You get used to it. MB's system is one, if not the smoothest in the market.

I don't like the Stop-Start system either, the part that you cannot set it off by default. |
How am i going compensate for the rest of the world for exceeded share of emissions that simple just by stop B.S. to myself and the rest of the world like some that say that they care a then go and buy a BENZ if you really care for the share of emissions you push out you would have an electric car or at the least a nice little smart car or such not the new E class w213 like you do. I all always take full responsibility for my actions not just when it makes us feel good to tell others what they should or should not do.By the way what size is the motor in you car again Mr Diesel Benz ?

https://www.edmunds.com/car-reviews/...save-fuel.html https://www.edmunds.com/fuel-economy...-low-cost.html And another article (you be the judge). https://www.nytimes.com/2016/04/08/a...-not.html?_r=0 I have had it on two E series. Don't care much for it in my particular driving use, and usually turn it off. I would love to have MB give me the choice to permanently shut it off, but they don't. I believe some BMWs do. I do find it funny some people criticize the desire to turn off Eco Stop/Start, but vigorously defend their right to drive cars with bigger engines and worse fuel economy. Who's saving the planet now?? Sadly no one seems able to answer your original question (before veering off topic), and there are no reviews on the manufacturer's web site. Looks like the product here in USA is sold through dealers. Maybe one of them would be able to ship to you if you decide to buy. Good luck. |
Hi Cao Black,
Thank for your post all i wanted was a simple answer to my simple questions at least you read my 1st post and saw it for what it is just a question about Mid City Engineering offering the only Eco Off that is on the market that i could fined..... like you i would like MB give me the choice to permanently shut it off or at least have it so it defaults to off if you want thanks again for your time and with your answer i appreciate your help. cheers |

Actually electric cars pollute more than conventional combustion cars when one considers the fossil fuel power plant emissions and the much larger level of emissions from the manufacturing and decommissioning processes.
In the UK and most likely in most mixed energy source open markets you can buy your home energy from companies who trade only in clean energy. So you can, theoretically, run an electric car without creating emissions. Of course production costs will be higher in terms of energy but again, in countries with high clean energy mixes that's not such an impact anymore. And a lot of our is harvestable at the end. I remember stories about the Prius life cycle cost being worse then gas guzzling offroaders but technology and design has moved on. |
Hi ua549,
