Cool Speedometers Differ

Noticed that the analog (needle) speedometer vs the digital (including HUD) are 2 MPH off from each other.

For example if I have the analog needle dead set at 70 mph the digital and HUD read 72 mph. Even happens at lower speeds.

Car does have 18" tires not sure if that’s contributing or not.

Called dealership, adviser sounded baffled.. Have appointment next Monday to have it looked at but was curious if anyone else has noticed this?

Mine is perfectly synced up.

What isn't synced is the clock in the instrument cluster and the clock on the navi screen.

Not uncommon at all. The analog may be off by a few mph, usually it shows faster. Kind of a safety margin avoid speeding tickets. The digital display shows the precise speed.

Do you mean not common on a W213? I've never seen a difference on other MB models. What I've seen is the digital display (and the HUD) show exactly the same speed (a bit hither than the actual speed, depending on tyres etc.).

Also odd if clocks show different time.

Thanks.. That's not the case here. The analog is slower than the digital.
I had the dealer look at it. They agree there is a 2 mph difference.
Service ran diags and software updates which made no change. So they are going to change out the inst cluster. The service tech did note the needle sits below zero when parked.
My biggest concern with that are squeaks and rattles after the change. Maybe they will order the optional digital cluster by mistake (Heh I know doubtful)

Hope that resolves it, fingers crossed.
