Yesterday I finally drove my 43 in sport plus mode. I found out that the quiet comfort package does significantly dull the nice sound track that I experienced on my test car when driven in the same mode. In fact, it eliminates most sense of speed period. You end up wondering why everyone is driving so darned slow, when you look at the speedometer you figure out you are driving twice the speed limit. I guess that is a "good" problem

The quiet/acoustic comfort package exists for a reason. I get where you are coming from, but yes, a good problem to have. Of course, the E63 might make the noise you are looking for haha.

I thoroughly enjoy the Acoustic Package and the IR blocking. The car stays much cooler than my W212 did during 90+ degree temps. Personally, I didn't care for the E43 when I drove it compared to my E300 and certainly not the rubber band tires that were on the car. I'm waiting until next year for my E63S to be built. Then I will have the performance exhaust system on the car and can adjust the sound on demand.

I'm interested in your long-term experience with your fancy paint on how it holds up. Personally, I would be paranoid about parking it within 20 feet of an adjacent car.

Let's hope that that doesn't happen until the car is really old.
